Not sure if you’ve heard the news yet or not, but the Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin was killed Sunday morning while filming footage for a new show. Before you jump to conclusions, no, he wasn’t doing something stupid to provoke a big croc or get bitten by a snake or something.
He was snorkeling of the Great Barrier Reef and following a bull stingray. For an unknown reason the ray got spooked and went in “defensive mode” and whipped it’s tail straight up and gored Steve close to his heart. Steve then went into cardiac arrest and died before they could rush him anywhere for emergency medical attention.
Some may say he had it coming the way he did things and seemingly risked his life. I don’t think he ever really risked his life anymore than anyone else. He was a professional and new the limits of his own knowledge and the capabilities of the animals he filmed probably better than anyone. Would you say the astronauts had it coming? What about Dale Earnhardt? What about the soldiers that protect our nation every day? I don’t think you would, so very simply, just take your mouth and SHUT-IT!
Read the full-story here , and we wish his wife Terri and two children Bindi and Bob our sympathies.
