Ever since they contacted me on twitter awhile back I’ve been a big fan of Vornado and their space heaters and other air circulation devices. Back then they sent me their iControl model to test out and use and we’ve been extremely happy about it.
A few weeks ago I made a comment about them needing a smaller version that would serve as more of a personal space heater. Something that you could fit under your desk easily and get your legs and toes nice and toasty.
They didn’t really have anything at the time, but now they do and they sent one to me to see what I thought.
The VH101 Personal Heater from Vornado delivers exactly what I’ve come to expect from all of their devices. It runs nearly silently, produces a very effective stream of air into the entire room. The VH101 Personal Heater is small enough to fit nicely under your desk at the office. The housing barely even gets warm to the touch and it’s got a tip-over safety switch that automatically shuts off the device if it’s not sitting nice and level on its bottom surface.
We had the iControl in our bathroom as there’s nothing quite like getting out of the shower on a chilly morning and having the nice, warm air from our Vornado to help warm the air and dry off. Since I’m usually working onsite with clients, I’m rarely at the office to keep this under my desk. We replaced the larger iControl unit with the VH101 Personal Heater in our bathroom. Its size makes it great for sitting on the counter, even in our small bathroom.
Now we have the iControl sitting in the living room. The remote control for the device sits on our side table with the other TV remotes and we can heat up the room a bit or just circulate unheated air if we prefer.
Either way, if you’re looking for a personal space heater or something to help circulate the air in your house, you’re probably not going to find anything better than something from Vornado.
Now I’m just waiting for them to develop an oscillating tower fan, then I’ll have all my other fans in the house replaced with a Vornado.

Umm… that iControl is $170 for a space heater. I don't think I'm in their demographic at least–I'll take the noise.
Yep! I was agreed, I'll keep in touch to your blog.

Space heaters are one of my favorite household items. It’s so nice to be able to heat just the area of your home that you want to, and not cook out everyone else :p My boyfriend and I always like certain rooms at a different temperature, so this makes it easier.
I love my space heaters around the house – wouldn't want to face a winter without them! I admit I tend to have the cheaper ones as I don't really have the cash to shell out on the more fancy models and they still work pretty well.
