I guess I’m not quite as nerdy as I had originally thought I might be. Are nerd and geek the same thing? Let’s see what Wikipedia says:
Nerd, as a stereotypical or archetypal designation, refers to people of above-average intelligence whose interests (often in science and mathematics) are not shared by mainstream society.
A geek is a person who is fascinated, perhaps obsessively, by obscure or very specific areas of knowledge and imagination. “Geek” may not always have the same meaning as the term nerd.
Maybe I’m a mutant hybrid of some sorts: Neeek or Geerd
It was interesting that this weekend I was reminded though while on a men’s retreat with my church that I also enjoy being outdoors, in nature and roughing as equally as anything else. I miss the days of my childhood, playing in the woods, riding my bike and building huge army bases and dioramas with my extensive G.I.Joe collection.
