We had our first parent/teacher conference for my son on Tuesday of this week. He’s doing great in school. Close to the beginning of the school year he had a problem one day with acting up in class with a friend and getting in trouble. Actually one step away from the principal’s office.
My wife and I tried to nip that behaviour in the bud as quickly as possible. It’s somewhat of a challenge for me though because I was quite the class clown growing up and to a degree was proud of that status. For me it was just my personality and I was still a top student, so no negative impact. The thing I want to try and be sure and teach my kids is timing is everything, in comedy itself, and when specifically comedy is appropriate if you know what I mean.
As I said, my son is doing great in school. Is actually pretty close to mastering all the goals set for the year and for some goals has already blown them out of the water by factors of 10. THAT’S MY BOY! But that may be a challenge as well, don’t want him getting bored in class. That leads itself to bad timing for comedic outbursts.
Other things he’s achieved in the past month. Mastered tying his shoes, gets himself up, face washed, teeth brushed and breakfast made on his own and lost his first tooth. It’s been a busy month!
I’m not sure why it is, but I’m not real big on loose teeth. Definitely not one for pulling at it and ripping away flesh and other connective tissue in getting it to come out permanently. Luckily he actually pulled this one himself while at Steak & Shake Uno’s Chicago Pizza and Grill. Anytime he can’t do that on his own in the future, I’ll be taking him to the dentist, that is after all why I pay exhorbitant amounts of money for dental insurance.

Not that it matters, but it was Uno's Chicago Pizza and Grill that you son pulled his own tooth and might I add that he was very proud of it at that.

Ooh! Thank you Mother Theresa, I was thinking it was Steak & Shake. I've corrected the post. He was very proud, he hasn't stopped telling people about it yet!
