Jason Bean In Head-On Collision Not Me

Although this Jason Bean in NH is not me, I have had a few conversations with him because of finding him previously via Google and MySpace. If he’s who I think he is, he’s a firefighter in the area.

His passenger is still hospitalized with serious injuries. I’m going to be leaving him a message on MySpace to see how he’s doing and wish him the best.

According to police, Kenneth Blankenship, 25, of Penacook was traveling north on South Main Street at about 9 a.m. in a 2004 Dodge Stratus when the vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and collided nearly head-on with a 1992 Toyota pickup truck that was being operated by Jason Bean, 35, also of 67 Pearl St. in Franklin, and in which Rowell was a passenger.

Three Little Dots Can Mean Everything

We learn a little about it in school

But you never know how much difference it can make

And change the meaning of everything

My Brother In The Presence of Barack Hussein Obama

obama-bill-bean-audience

Not that this impresses me much at all, but I thought it was funny how my brother pointed out where he was in this picture.

Here’s how he told me to find him in the photo:

look top left corner, white blob is me

Funny, funny, funny.

UPDATE: As I was posting this and the spell check came across “Barack Hussein Obama”, these are some of the words it recommending as a correct spelling, “Barracks”, “Unseeing” and “Badman”.

Heading to SXSW Next Week

b5-sxsw-tickets

I lucked out today and won a little drawing that b5media had for their bloggers. They were giving away a registration ticket for SXSW (South By Southwest) event that’s coming up in Austin and it starts next week.

There are three different focuses of the conference/festival

I had originally thought I’d go for the music portion because of my Christian Music Fan blog, but Christian music doesn’t have much of a presence or showing at this festival from what I could tell from their website.

So, it looks like I’ll be heading down for the Interactive Festival portion which fits more into my general niche of blogging and technology.

The challenge is getting my butt down to Austin next week as cheaply as possible. I’m not opposed to driving, but would rather not spend 14 hours one-way heading down there and back. Heading down there probably wouldn’t be bad, but I’m sure heading back after 5 days of non-stop activity would be a challenge for me.

If anyone would like to sponsor my transportation costs on this little trip, just send me an e-mail or leave a comment. I might even consider a tattoo or shameless plug on all future blogging posts for the right price.

By the way, the photo is of Darcie and Laura drawing my name out of our CEO’s motorcycle helmet!

Who Gives A Rip What Kathy Griffin Says?

kathy-griffin It’s been awhile now since all the loads of media attention that Kathy Griffin snagged by her comments at the recent Emmy Awards. If you didn’t catch it, here’s a general recap:

In accepting the Emmy for her Bravo reality show, “My Life on the D-List,” Griffin said that “a lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus.”

She went on to hold up her Emmy, make an off-color remark about Christ and proclaim, “This award is my god now!”

First who cares what Kathy Griffin says or thinks? I’ve never woken up to a new day and asked myself what Kathy Griffin thinks, or really any other Hollywood person. I should also specify that I don’t care what an actor/actress thinks that I actually agree with on some kind of philosophical level, definitely not one that I realize ultimately I don’t agree with on just about anything. Suffice it to say, my world has not been nudged, much less rocked over the last seven days.

This kind of stuff is what irritates me more than anything Kathy Griffin said or could imagine saying:

The Miracle Theater in Pigeon Forge spent $90,440 on a full-page advertisement in USA Today that ran nationally Monday, proclaiming “enough is enough.”

“We at The Miracle Theater consider it an honor to stand for Jesus today,” the ad said. “We may never win a national award. We may never be household names. We may never be seen in Hollywood. Although others may choose to use their national platform to slander our God, we are honored as professional entertainers to stand for Christ.”

$90,440 STINKING DOLLARS!!! I don’t know, but does anyone else think this group could have exhibited a little bit better decision-making skills when it comes to spending almost $100,000. I’m thinking soup kitchen, homeless, medical bills for someone, the single mom that needs daycare or a new car?

NO! They decide to take out a full-page advertisement in USA Today. If you or someone you know saw Jesus when you saw the ad, PLEASE let me know.
