Could I be anymore addicted to this show? I absolutely love the concept, the drama, the group dynamics, the challenges, the strategy. Everything about this show is awesome. Now if I could only convince them to let this preacher’s kid blogger dude to be a contestant.
I overheard a conversation today by what appeared to be a couple of high school students. I’m not exactly sure why, but when I overhear conversations by high school students and younger, I’m frequently irritated by their inexperienced viewpoints of the world around them. I guess I’m turning into that grumpy old guy everyone knows.
The boy was sharing his thoughts on art and what’s art and what’s not. The conversation eventually led to discussing communication. He was talking about a friend of his that’s now in college and has a professor that would always use really big words in class. I’m not sure if these words were considered part of the knowledge and learning they were supposed to be getting, but the kid didn’t appreciate the professor using all these words that the other students didn’t know.
Yeah, I’d hate for your intelligence to actually be challenged and stretched while you’re in college. I guess what our educationally challenged society needs is for all teachers and professors to not speak or expect any higher level of thought than the students they’re teaching in their classrooms.
I’m sure that will be the thing that really helps us all.
