I’m not sure if you’ve heard them on the radio lately, but Kraft Foods Bull’s-Eye brand BBQ sauce has had some entertaining radio advertisements that are right on target for their audience.

The variety of ads work around the idea of “real men” making a choice for a bold flavored BBQ sauce instead of something “sweet”.

Through the pursuit of my wife, we are purchasing and using more organic foods, significantly reducing our intake of high fructose corn syrup and other sweeteners from our diets and taking other steps to eat smarter.

We have a friend we’ve made recently that owns and operates his family farm, that’s been handed down through seven generations of his forefathers. I spoke with him in detail yesterday after church and I’m excited and interested in his efforts for doing something a bit different in the world of farming compared to what’s been the model for the recent past.

Darby is going back to the history of connecting with the land and raising livestock on that land in a very sustainable and healthy method. In his words, his pursuit of farming is a very spiritual endeavor and a reconnection of the history of humans being connected to their food and taking care of what’s been entrusted to them in these efforts.

Our farm is a 7th generation family heirloom in which we take great pride. Settled in 1828, we are now in the process of transitioning this land once again into a sustainable family economy using methods and practices that allow us to produce truly “authentic food”. In 2007, we began in earnest by producing pastured poultry, and in 2008 we added pastured pork to our operation.  In 2009, we offered grass-fed beef for the first time and 2010 has already seen us add a small egg laying flock as well ramp up our poultry and pork quantities to meet the growing demand for our high quality meats.

Recently I decided to dig a little deeper into the impact the termination is having locally.  Jason Bean, a long time blogger for the company, was one of the terminated bloggers.  Having first been published in December 2005, Jason started writing for b5media shortly after their initial launch.  Through-out the years, he’s contributed to several of the company’s web properties, focusing mainly on technology, but also authoring pieces about American Idol and CSI.

John also followed up with Elaine Kunda, current b5 CEO, and asked her some questions as well.

I got an email recently from Qdoba letting me know I could now visit their website and download a free music file and learn more about "our sound" at their website. Honestly the "sound" of Qdoba is something I’d probably prefer not to hear about if you know what I mean.

To me it’s not too much different than Pizza Hut and their Wing Street brand. Pizza Hut , you’re really not doing pizza that well anymore, how about you just focus on improving that before you start also offering less than average buffalo wings too.
