Questionning Files to Delete

I should probably direct this question to Kiven over at That Damn PC, but I figure I’ll ask it here and he can answer and let me know on his own site if he would like.

I’ve got these directories of files in my root drive and I’m wondering what files I can delete safely. Anyone have any ideas? Is there a way to determine if a file is attached to a registry value or application that needs them? I’m thinking maybe these were temporary directories that were established for installing an upgrade or new application anyway.

Then there’s all the .sqm file as well. What about those? Keep or delete?
