Repentant Owens apologizes to Eagles, coach and fans
This is just too little too late in my opinion. My friend Matt had a great response (Apology (sort-of)) to this apology and advice for any other celebrity stuffed from a diet of foot and crow.
Does T.O. really think the majority of people believe these hollow words? The best explanation I’ve heard for his behaviour was that he just has no logical connection to the meaning of “tact” in the world he lives in. He’s going to speak his mind, and he doesn’t really care what people think or how they feel in the process.
To a degree, I’m very much like that. If you ask me a question and I’ve built a relationship with you, then I’m going to answer it bluntly and it may not be the answer you were looking to receive.
My wife and I got into a discussion (a.k.a. argument) the other night. She wanted me to get mad at her and tell her all the things she did that made me mad. I told her that it didn’t matter, and it really doesn’t. I think everything I would have mentioned, she already knew was an irritant to me and something that she was working on improving. Me pointing it out every time it makes me mad isn’t going to help the situation at all. In fact, it would do more to damage the relationship and cause her to not want to improve in those areas herself anyway.
