Sorry for the delay...I was out of town when you posted this one and just saw it.

Anyway, this one has been a royal pain to a few clients of ours and it's not always just an IE thing.

First, make sure you're running 2.5.1 (or newer when available) as there are a few fixes in that release.

Second, give this a whirl: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/image-upload-http-error-fix/. This fixes it *sometimes*.

Other than that, it has just been trial and error (and some core code changes which I don't recommend) and in one case I've not been able to duplicate what the client has been seeing, which is frustrating.

<blockquote>Any ideas on what I need to do? It’s working fine on my own computer, just not on this person’s laptop. Is there something on his machine I need to update?</blockquote>

The error your seeing is pretty much the entire text of the error message. There's no additional text that says anything of importance. The user is running Windows Vista with IE7. Not sure about whether or not it's using JSON.

Jason

You need to cut and paste the full text of the error dialogue that pops up. Just from my initial glance is that the browser cannot process the generated Javascript because an object cannot be created. Is Wordpress using JSON and the client has an older browser?

Just some thoughts to ponder.
