I just caught the end of an episode of Oprah’s Big Give on ABC. They’re doing lots of great things and really initiating some change in people’s lives.
One question presented itself in my mind tonight though.
How much money are they wasting by flying the contestants back to the Big Give HQ in Chicago or New York after each challenge?
I realize that compared to everything else they’re doing it’s probably not much. But I’m sure there are plenty of organizations or families that could really be impacted by the cost of all that airfare back and forth.

Interesting…that was my basic response to the show too. We just caught a tiny bit of it last week and I thought that they could probably give away 3 or 4 times as much money and resources to people if she wasn’t turning it into a marketing and media thing or a way to build her fame. Always the cynic I guess…when it comes to these things.
