Live Action G.I.Joe Movie

I may be setting myself up for some ridicule here but I am a huge G.I.Joe fan. I grew up collecting the stuff (the little ones, not the big action figures). This was my generation of toys. I’m almost ashamed to admit it now, but I ditched Star Wars figures for G.I.Joe because they could bend their elbows and knees and of course the kung-fu battle grip!

I don’t know how many thousands of dollars I spent over the years on this stuff, but the good news is I’ve still got it all.

With that background, you can now understand why I’m excited to hear about more news of a live-action G.I.Joe movie.

I don’t know who Channing Tatum is, but it looks like he’ll be playing Duke. Here are my more ecstatic choices for casting though that seemed to be sealed and delivered.

ray-park-snake-eyes Ray Park as Snake-Eyes.

You’ll never actually see his face in the movie, which may be the reason you don’t recognize him, but this is PERFECT. Maybe you’re familiar with his other work as Darth Maul or Toad in X-Men.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Heavy Duty.

Straight from LOST. I think this was a great casting too.

I think maybe someone better could have been Michael Duncan Clark, a.k.a. Kingpin from Daredevil.

rachel-nichols-scarlett Rachel Nichols as Scarlett O’Hara.

Yeah! The red hair and green dress nail it!

marlon-wayans Marlon Wayans as Ripcord. I’m guessing some comic relief there. I’d have to go check out my bio-card for Ripcord to confirm this as a good casting fit.
sienna-miller-baroness Sienna Miller as the Baroness. I think someone like Elizabeth Hurley would be better don’t you?

I can’t wait to see some casting in costume photos when they’re available.

A Little Personality

toothpaste-personality-test

Here’s the results of a personality test I took awhile back. I’m digging through old files and deleting stuff. Before I delete this I figured I could share it on my blog so people might get to know me a little bit better. It’s actually pretty close to accurate.

  • You are good at impersonally scheduling and processing whatever is at hand, be it things or people. You are motivated to sequence processes so things get done in the right order.
  • You possess a combination of physical coordination, depth perception, timing and dexterity to successfully operate large equipment.
  • Activities that require simultaneous timing, coordination, dexterity, rhythm, and depth perception come natural to me. I handle multiple complex physical tasks well.
  • You have good coordination, dexterity, timing, rhythm and ability with simultaneous functions. If you perform the same physical task repeatedly, it will become a subconscious, automatic function.
  • You are well equipped for activity involving tools, repetitious activity, variable physical conditions and minor problem solving.
  • You naturally generate lots of new ideas and ways of doing things. You like to be included in brainstorming sessions, or whenever new and different solutions must be found. You are also highly intuitive, and likely to suddenly “just know” the solution.

U2 3D in IMAX

U23D-IMAX-concert

All I’ve got to say, GO SEE IT FOR YOURSELF!!! It’s amazing!

$13.50 per ticket at IMAX in the Indiana State Museum, $12.50 at the Kerasotes 16 IMAX on the south side. It would be an expensive evening, but I’ll probably be going to see it again soon.

The theater could have cranked the volume about 2x what they had it, but it was still great.

UPDATE: The widget originally embedded in the page was messing up the layout and repeating itself. Visit the U2 3D Movie website for all the details.

Drooling a Little Bit Over the MacBook Air

The MacWorld conference is going on right now and normally I’m not a big wacko when it comes to Apple products. I do appreciate their design and simplicity and thing they do some great stuff, I just don’t go all nuts over their stuff when it’s announced.

MacBook-Air

With that being said, I’ve got to admit, that little puppy above makes me drool just a wee bit. That’s stinkin’ impressive folks. Think about it, that’s sitting on a manila envelope. Your laptop bag just became one of those little zippered business portfolios.

  • 13.3″ widescreen display
  • 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
  • you could run Windows
  • 64GB hard drive (pretty small by standards, but where would you fit much more?)
  • built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
  • mouse touch pad that operates like the iPhone screen

I’ve got a client that’s purchased a new MacBook awhile back so I’m learning more by supporting him a little bit. Here’s the reality of things though, at $3,098 the likelihood of me getting one of these is pretty rare.
