I’m at drama practice this afternoon for our Christmas production at church. There is of course a scene with shepherds. One of the little boys playing a shepherd is wearing one of those rough, brown, suede jackets with the wool trim and collar.
I started thinking to myself, that it’s a really good costume, but then a second thought hit me. I’m sure some kind of attire like that was similar to what real shepherds word. Some kind of leather that was probably from sheep and of course the wool as well.
Now we know that sheep are one of the dumbest animals on the planet, but do you think one of them ever said something like, “Have you seen Bob anywhere? That shepherd guy kind of smells like him, but it’s not Bob.”
Of course the shepherd smells like him, he’s wearing Bob’s skin and wool. It seems to me that would be a pretty frightening realization if it ever came to one of the sheep figuring the whole thing out.
Of course, I could be way off.
