WHAT A DAY TODAY! I’m supposed to arrive at work today and focus all of my energy on working on a website project that we’re delivering to a client tomorrow. It doesn’t necessarily have to be complete and polished, but the basic functionality, look and feel is expected to be done.
That didn’t happen, instead my computer decided to not connect to our server this morning. Not sure if something got corrupted or what, but long story short we spent the entire day troubleshooting and rebuilding client machines and client users on the server trying to get it all connected and up and running. We finally just created an entirely new user and reconnected the machine, which worked. The only problem is all my setting for preferences, software applications and specifically all my website site definition files are all MIA.
So, I’m rebuilding and reinstalling and reconfiguring my machine to be the loveable and friendly chunk of plastic, metal and silicon I remember it to be.
I’m sure it will be an all-nighter again as I try and get things back to ground level and start the work that should have started this morning at 8:00am. ARRGH!
